Editorial assessment

What we love

  • Australia's largest immigration practice, backed by a 60-office global network — unmatched capacity for multi-country corporate moves.

  • Depth beyond visa lodgement: audit, compliance, litigation and government-policy engagement.

  • Team includes qualified solicitors and accredited specialists in immigration law, not only registered agents.

Where it falls short

  • Premium corporate pricing — individuals with routine applications will pay more than at boutique agencies.

  • Built for corporate volume — personal matters can feel process-driven compared with founder-led practices.

I had an excellent experience working with Rebecca and the team at Fragomen. From start to finish, they were professional, responsive, and very clear in their guidance. Our Subclass 189 visa was handled efficiently and smoothly, with great attention to detail throughout the process. I’m very grateful for their support and would highly recommend them to anyone seeking immigration assistance in Australia. A special shout-out to the Fragomen Melbourne team for their support with our temporary visas from 2022 to 2025.

I’ve had the best experience working with Aghyad and Minto. They were really professional in their dealings with me and handled my case really well. They resolved all my queries and I couldn’t be more relaxed knowing they are working in my case. A really positive experience overall.

I am genuinely surprised they have such a high rating. Fragomen never informed me I switched to a bridging visa, not knowing I was on the wrong one, I exited the country and now my visa is cancelled. Hoping to get a new visa done, everyday they don’t act is being taken out of my pay check and they don’t answer the phone (tried to reach them 10 times per day, never managed to make it through to my agent). Submitting an urgent letter to my visa application (which is uploading one document) took them 12 days. There is little to no communication to no what progress has been made. A few years ago they also made me pass an English test that was no longer accepted by the government so I had to retake one (400 dollars each times) My company goes through them so I have no choice but if you are in a rush I strongly advise you to look elsewhere I sincerely hope that they will try to improve their service, as it is anxiety inducing to work with them.

I’ve had a nightmare experience with Fragomen for my 186DE visa. My case was handled by a Senior Associate and his assistant, and their lack of professionalism was shocking. First, they gave me flat-out wrong policy advice. They told me "Accredited Sponsor" status didn't apply to the 186 visa (which is false). This single mistake meant my company didn't apply, and my visa approval has now been delayed by over 6 months because I lost priority processing. They also gave me the wrong validity dates for my ACS skills assessment. Worse, I was given dangerous advice regarding my bridging visa. I was told I could stay for 2-3 months to wait for the confirmation letter after withdrawing my application, but I found out on the official website that I actually only had 35 days to leave. If I hadn't checked myself, I would have overstayed and ruined my immigration history. On top of the bad advice, their communication is deadly terrible. They ignored my emails and calls for over a month after I sent all my documents. I only managed to reach him after calling the main office and the receptionist passed on my message to him. They sat on my completed files for two months before finally lodging it. The errors and delays from this team caused serious consequences for my visa application. If you’re an Australian visa applicant, do yourself a favor and stay away from Fragomen.

CompareMyAgents Editorial

The bottom line

Fragomen is the world's largest immigration services firm, and its Australian practice (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth) is the country's biggest — the default choice for multinational corporations managing sponsored workforces at scale, with qualified solicitors, registered agents and accredited immigration-law specialists on staff. It does take individual matters, but its structure, service model and pricing are built for corporate programs. Individuals with a single partner or skilled application will usually get more attention per dollar at a boutique practice.
