Editorial assessment

What we love

  • Century-plus of Victorian disability support with metro and regional coverage.

  • Broad service range — daily living, SIL, therapy and employment under one organisation.

Where it falls short

  • Large-organisation variability — meet the local team and ask about safeguarding practices before committing.

Scam alert ⚠️. Too much rudeness and lack of empathy among support coordinators. SC does not take their participants choice and control into account and controls and dictates their supports. I have also requested for my ex SCs case notes and still haven't heard back.

Avocating on behalf of my daughter with complex needs: i have just met an amazing SSC from Spectrum SC (highly recommended) and he plans on utilising a goal centred approach by helping us to establish our goals using a person centred approach, then using a spreadsheet to breakdown the ndis budget in order to guide us along the plan. Omg, I have never ever seen this in the 6 years we used our yooralla SSC. I was always the one using my own spreadsheet to do this. Last time there was interactions with our yooralla ex SC was when she visited us 2 months ago and wasted an hour of my time just having a chat. There was no noting of goals and progress, just a simple question of 'if we're happy'? And used her notebook to jot down points. Furthermore; she proceeds with a teams meeting wasting mine and my therapists times which was really counter-productive and waste of SC funding. Update: thanks for your response below. I haven't yet heard anything to date. I also requested case notes for my daughter 2 weeks ago, as i have seen a huge chunk of budget spent in such a short amount of time. There has been no response to date. So maybe we should use this platform here for communication. Should i copy and paste all the correspondences here?

Your St Albans site is covered with HEALTH HAZARD rubbish though out the car parks Used latex gloves, wipes plastic bags and food scraps are left all over the place including over full waste bins This is a DISGRACE and must be dealt with by the HEALTH DEPARTMENT since management is to incompetent to manage themselves

CompareMyAgents Editorial

The bottom line

Yooralla is a Victorian institution — more than a century of disability support with one of the state's widest service footprints, from inner Melbourne to regional Victoria. That breadth suits participants who want multiple supports coordinated by one organisation. As with any large provider, individual experience depends on the local team, and its history includes hard lessons that shaped today's safeguarding practices — worth asking any provider about directly.
