Your passport (all pages)

Your sponsor's passport or citizenship certificate

Birth certificates for both parties

Marriage certificate (if legally married)

Divorce certificates (if either party was previously married)

Joint bank account statements

Joint mortgage, lease, or rental agreement

Joint utility bills or insurance policies

Evidence of financial support provided to each other

Shared address evidence (lease, utility bills, correspondence)

Statutory declarations from both parties about living arrangements

Photographs together over time (dates visible)

Statutory declarations from people who know you as a couple

Ideally 2–3 from different people — family, friends, colleagues

Evidence of joint social activities, travel, events

Social media evidence (joint profiles, posts, tagging)

Statutory declaration from both parties about the nature of the relationship

Communication records during periods apart (messages, emails, call logs)

Evidence of knowledge of each other's lives, family, background

Evidence of 12+ months cohabitation (if de facto)

Some exceptions apply — ask a migration agent

State-based de facto registration (e.g., VIC, NSW, QLD relationship registers)

Health examination via HAP panel physician

Police clearances from all countries lived in for 12+ months since age 16
