Valid passport (must be valid for the duration of your intended stay)

Previous passports if any

Birth certificate (translated if not in English)

National ID card (translated if not in English)

Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) from a CRICOS-registered provider

Provided by your institution — you cannot apply without this

Acceptance letter from the institution

Evidence of previous qualifications (transcripts, certificates)

English proficiency test results (IELTS, PTE, TOEFL)

Required by most institutions — check with your provider

Personal statement explaining your study plans and intention to return home

This is the most important document — tailor it carefully

Evidence of ties to home country (employment, property, family)

Evidence this qualification fits your career goals

Bank statements showing sufficient funds (last 3–6 months)

Minimum ~AUD 24,505/year for living costs, plus tuition and airfare

Scholarship letter (if applicable)

Education loan approval letter

Evidence of sponsor's financial capacity (if someone else is funding you)

Proof of tuition payment or fee deferral arrangement

Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) certificate

Must be arranged before visa grant

Medical examination results (via panel physician if requested)

Chest X-ray results

Required for applicants from certain countries or staying 12+ months

Police clearance certificate from your country of residence

Required if you are 16 or over and have lived in certain countries for 12+ months

Court documents relating to any past offences (if applicable)
