Editorial assessment

What we love

  • Genuinely independent — takes no commissions from developers or selling agents, so advice is unconflicted.

  • Established 1995 with 3,300+ acquisitions and a strong media and advisory reputation.

Where it falls short

  • Melbourne residential only; not a fit for interstate or commercial purchases.

  • Premium, boutique service — likely priced accordingly (fees quoted on enquiry).

We had a fantastic experience working with Jarrod. His calmness and steady guidance throughout the process of selling our home made a real difference. At every stage, his advice kept us grounded and reassured, and we always felt supported and in very capable hands. We’re incredibly grateful for his professionalism and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great vendor advocate.

Brenton was excellent as a vendor's advocate. He had a great understanding of the market and what was needed to sell the property. His choice of real estate agent was perfect and the two of them worked seamlessly together to implement a highly effective marketing strategy. He oversaw the successful refurbishment of the property and the interior styling. All these efforts culminated in a very pleasing sale price. At all times he was great communicator and a pleasure to deal with. Thanks and well done!

Jordan from Wakelins assisted us with the sale of our property in Abbotsford VIC. He was great to deal with, gave us very sound advice re the preparation of the property for sale, and was instrumental in achieving a great result at auction.

We engaged Wakelin Property as buyer’s agent to purchase an investment property in Melbourne. This was done after considerable research into buyer’s agents in Melbourne who aim to purchase quality property that is likely to achieve capital growth over decades. We were also recommended to use them by our mortgage brokers, this was an unsolicited recommendation, and it gave us further confidence that they would act with integrity and in our best interests. We worked with Brenton who did a fantastic job for us and we are very pleased with the outcome. Brenton paid close attention to our brief and answered any questions we had promptly and thoroughly. He knew the area very well, and provided great advice for us along the way. The process took a bit longer than I was expecting, but Brenton gave us regular updates on the properties he had inspected and why they were unsuitable. This gave us great confidence that he was acting in our best interests to secure a quality property, and not just any property that comes across his radar. If I may be so bold as to paraphrase a certain fishing company’s motto, “it’s the properties that Wakelin rejects that makes Wakelin the best”. :D When the right property did eventually come along Brenton acted quickly and decisively. He was able to negotiate well on the day of auction (after the property did not meet the reserve price), and saved us 10s of thousands of dollars by doing so. Wakelin property are knowledgeable, operate with integrity and in the client’s best interests - I would highly recommend engaging Wakelin property as buyer’s agents.

We were referred to and engaged Wakelin Property Advisory to assist us in buying an investment property in inner city Melbourne. We worked directly with Brenton who was experienced, knowledgeable and quickly built a relationship of trust with us. He was 100% working for us, putting our interests and goals as the priority. He was not after a quick purchase, but rather the right purchase for a high-quality investment grade property. Whilst the process took a little longer than I thought it would, we couldn't have been more thrilled with the outcome, as we know that we got the right outcome for us. Thank you, Brenton and the team, at Wakelin.
